Construction Experience Sought in Resources & MRWA sectors
Our client is a Nationally recognised and growing Tier 2 business in the construction sector here in Perth, Western Australia. With a large range of opportunities within the greater construction sector in Western Australia the opportunity awaits an enthusiastic and motivated Business Development manager who has established networks both in the Resources sector and ideally MRWA.
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for targeting and chasing all potential construction opportunities within Western AUstralia. You will have worked within the construction sector including either Resources sector and public infrastructure space (MRWA & PTA) and understand the markets you work in and all the associated connections and networks within consultants and clients.
Your role will not only see you ensure the business is aware of all opportunities but then execute to ensure they can submit tenders and manage the client relationships through the process. You will work extremely closely with a raft of technical engineers and the estimating team so your support and input will be invaluable.
We are seeking an individual who has the required drive and tenacity to be successful in this environment, you will be creating strategic plans to assist growth while driving business development from initial tenders to follow through complete stages to award. You will naturally have a track record in successfully seizing sales opportunities and working them through the bid management.
Previous experience on projects in WA, highly desirable.
Ideally tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying , Engineering or closely related discipline but not essential
5+ years’ exposure to construction CONTRACTING within Australia
5+ years’ Australian experience in a Business Development function
Well-developed networks throughout WA
Excellent Business Development capabilities
Demonstrable ability to establish and develop relationships with key individuals
Understanding of various construction methodologies to highlight cost savings
Highly developed influencing and communication skills
This will be challenging but highly rewarding position, requiring someone highly motivated with excellent technical and commercial knowledge, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
